… Where Beginners Become Competitors

Zeta Fencing is one of the dominating sabre fencing clubs in the United States and has a strong reputation in the international fencing community. We excel in competitive fencing because we know how to make competition fun. Our pre-competitive and youth competitive classes allow our youngest fencers to take the next step and explore the world of competitive sabre fencing. The programs include all aspects of training that competitive fencers need: conditioning, footwork, drills in a group setting, and a lot of bouting to gain fencing experience. As a small fencing club, we can reach outstanding results because we focus on only one of the three Olympic fencing weapons, the sabre.

Our invitation-only competitive programs run for 10 months and require a fencer’s commitment for a full season. The programs include all aspects of training that competitive fencers need: conditioning, footwork, drills in a group setting, and many hours of bouting to gain fencing experience.

Pre-Competitive Class

The Pre-Competitive Program (Tuesday and Thursday at 5:00-6:30pm) offers an introduction to competitive sabre fencing for youth fencers. The class prepares our youngest fencers for Zeta’s competitive sabre fencing programs and guides them through their first competition experiences. Students will stay in this class until they are ready to start competing at the regional level. The pre-competitive program combines youth 10 and youth 12 fencers, so students age 8-12 can participate. All competitive students are welcome to join our Open Fencing sessions for an additional 5 hours of bouting per week. Fencers are required to use their own equipment during practice and competition.

In order to maintain a high level of fencing, all pre-competitive students are required to take a minimum of one weekly individual lesson in addition to group classes. Please contact us directly to schedule lessons.

Coach’s consent is required to join any of Zeta Fencing’s competitive programs. Please contact us to schedule a personal evaluation with our coaches if you are interested in the program.

Mark the tournaments you are interested in, then bring the page with your selection, comments, and questions to the club and discuss it with your personal coach. Please always confirm with your personal coach before you sign up for a tournament. If you are interested in attending a competition that’s not on the list, advise with your coach.
