For NCAA Championships, the 24 best collegiate fencers of each weapon come together to fence each other in a big round-robin. After 23 bouts against all his opponents, Eli Dershwitz lead with a remarkable 22-1 record. The second seed was also held by a Zeta fencer — Andrew Mackiewicz finished as number 2 with a 18-5 record. The top four seeds qualified for the last round of the “Final Four” to fight for the Championship Title. While Eli Dershwitz lost his first bout to Ferenc Valkai (St. John’s), Andrew defeated first Roman Sydorenke (St. John’s), and then Ferenc to claim the title. Find complete results here.

Both Eli and Andrew are also members of the US Junior Men’s Sabre Team and will represent our country during the Cadet and Junior World Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in April.
